SNAP Employment and Training

SNAP Employment and Training (SNAP E&T) is a program that can help SNAP participants gain skills and find work. The program is free and was recently expanded so that anyone who is unemployed or unemployed may be eligible for training, education classes and certifications at no cost to them.

Healthy people age 59 and younger may also participate in SNAP Employment and Training (SNAP E&T) while receiving food assistance to help them gain work experience and move toward self-sufficiency.

SNAP E&T is not a one-size fits all program. Through our partnership with OhioMeansJobs you can get connected with job readiness training and engage with local employers to achieve your personal goals. Your SNAP E&T employment consultant will meet you where you are and help open the doors to new opportunities and career options.

Your SNAP E&T Journey

  1. Ask to join SNAP E&T when you apply for SNAP.
  2. You and a SNAP E&T employment consultant will discuss your employment goals, needs, barriers and strengths.
  3. Take part in SNAP E&T activities that help meet your goals.
  4. Stay connected with your SNAP E&T employment consultant to discuss your progress and receive extra support when you need it.
  5. Accomplish your goals and complete the program with confidence.
